Reading and Writing Templates

Writing templates give students a starting point and direction for their own writing, and can be used to foster students' confidence in their own work. These templates for writing and reading provide students with a structure that is enjoyable and satisfying.

Templates are also really useful when you have extra adult or peer support in the classroom, as the templates guide the lesson and assist the objectives to be reached, without the teacher needing to support or intervene. Parent helpers (especially those who stay without notice), will always be welcome and productive. The teacher can select appropriate templates for writing and have everyone in a small group fully engaged in learning or reinforcing new concepts, while she is working with other students.
