Website Links to Great Online
Activities and Games

Website links to well designed and instructive games are often difficult to find. This site has been developed for teachers, parents and especially kids! The pages of links have been arranged by general curriculum areas, and are grouped according to stages of learning. This means that teachers or parents can browse through the links on each page, and make the most relevant ones available to their children. Even very young children without any reading skills can find specific games with the image links, and learn about the back button to return to the previous page. Stages of learning have been labelled as "Classrooms". Classroom 1 links are generally suitable for 4-6 year olds or Kinder-Prep. Classroom 2 links are suitable for 6-8 year olds or Grade 1-2. Classroom 3 links are suitable for 8-10 year olds or Grade 3-4. Classroom 4 links are suitable for 10-12 year olds or Grade 5-6. The goal is to make online learning simple, accessible and worthwhile, both in the classroom and at home.

Teachers can decide which games and activities are most appropriate to the class they are working with and place a link to each page needed, on classroom computers or the school website.
Parents too can place the links to appropriate pages on home computers for some enjoyable and entertaining homework on concepts your kids need support or extension with (see recommended grade levels).

The link pages are deliberately designed without confusing extras like a navigation bar or ads, so that children will only select from the recommended websites displayed. One link back to this home page is found on every page. If young children are provided with the exact addresses of each page recommended for them, they are less likely to get lost browsing many pages to find the one they need. Older children who are competent readers and web users, will be able to find their way around this site to any links they are interested in.

All online games recommended here are free, but they may require extra freely available programs to be installed on your computer in order to view them. The games and activities linked to on this website have been found in google searches and can be found on many "recommended" lists of online educational activities. Many more fantastic games are around if you care to search. If you find some amazing ones, let me know and I'll add them. I've tried to keep the number of choices on each page to a managable one, so children are not overwhelmed.

While I can't guarantee that links are ad free or completely child safe, I have taken care to look around the sites recommended and to test the games myself. Close supervision by adults is always necessary when children are using the internet, and all children should be educated about how to stay safe on the web. It is also recommended that a child safe web filter be installed on computers used by children. I have tried to be selective about sites that are difficult to view because of flashing lights, pop-ups and the overuse of flashy, enticing ads for competitions.
